At the Olympic Games in the semi final 1500 m race, Sifan Hassan collided with a falling rival and also fell. But she not only found the strength to continue the race, but also came to the finish line first! Hasan was able to reach the final, where she won a bronze Olympic medal. But the athlete did not stop there. In starts at 5000 m and 10000 m, she confidently bypassed her rivals and added two more medals to her piggy bank, this time gold:
“It felt like I drank 28 cups of coffee. They ran so slowly, but I felt good and not too tired.”
Hassan had already worked with Tim Rowberry by that time, after which she became famous in runner circles. Under his leadership, she became a triumphant competition. For the Tokyo Olympics, the runner approached the status of the main favorite.
In her welcoming speech at the presentation of the award, Sifan Hassan admitted that she has plans to try her hand at the marathon. And she intends to do this before the next Olympics. Hassan currently holds the European half marathon record (65:15), which she ran in Copenhagen in 2018.
But let’s be honest, for an athlete with such a difficult life and sports history everyone wants to cheer. We wish her good luck in the upcoming marathons and Olympics.
